In 1998 the Carnival Organization of Jacksonville, Inc. was originally created as a carnival costume-producing band. After joining the International Caribbean Carnivals Association, the organization expanded to organize the Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival.

Originally known as the Jacksonville Carnival on the Beach, the first event was held on September 13, 2000. The carnival has since taken various forms and has grown significantly, moving to Heming Plaza in 2003 and finally to its current home at Metropolitan Park.

The Jacksonville Carnival grand parade will take place September 13-16 2012 at Metropolitan Park:

Located in downtown Jacksonville on the St. Johns River across from ALLTEL Stadium, the Metropolitan Park is just minutes from I-95.
